About the event
Join the Arkansas Natural Heritage Commission, Audubon Arkansas, and the Northwest Arkansas Land Trust to collect native seed in support of the Arkansas Native Seed Program and Audubon’s NATIVE Project, then meet up at Fossil Cove Brewing Co. for a beer or non-alcoholic beverage courtesy of the Fayetteville Natural Heritage Association .
When: Monday, October 21, 3:00-6:00 p.m.
Where: Meet at the Wilson Springs Trailhead (3081 N, AR-112, Fayetteville, AR 72704) which is located next to the Sam’s Club parking lot. To get to the trailhead, enter the Sam’s Club parking lot at the gas station entrance and park in the spaces about halfway down on the left. We’ll met at the kiosk and walk into the natural area together. After we collect, head over to Fossil Cove Brewing Co. (1946 N Birch Ave, Fayetteville, AR 72703) for a cold drink!
What You Should Bring: Hand pruners, gloves, insect repellent, and water, and wear a wide-brimmed hat, long pants, and sturdy boots.
Other Details: Collection bags and training will be provided. We will give a demonstration on how to properly collect and press a plant specimen while at the collection site. All ages are welcome to participate.
