A Season of Stewardship: Protecting the Lands we call Home
A Season of Stewardship
Spring in Northwest Arkansas is a season of renewal—longer days, landscapes greening up, and more opportunities to gather outdoors. It’s also the perfect time to reflect on our shared responsibility to care for the land that sustains us. That’s why the Land Trust is excited to launch our Season of Stewardship campaign.
The goal of this spring fundraising effort is to raise $40,000 to support land conservation and stewardship across our region. Every dollar raised helps ensure that the forests, farms, streams, and open spaces we all cherish remain protected—today and for generations to come.
Stewardship is at the heart of what we do. It’s not just about conserving land once; it’s about the long‑term care, monitoring, and relationship‑building that keeps conserved properties healthy and thriving. The Season of Stewardship campaign brings this work to life by pairing fundraising with meaningful, community‑centered events that invite people onto the land.
Throughout the campaign, we’ll be hosting a series of events designed to celebrate conservation in action:
- NWA Gives – Join us during this region‑wide day of giving and help amplify support for land conservation across Northwest Arkansas.
- NWALT Film Screening – An evening of storytelling and conversation, highlighting the powerful connection between people and protected land.
- Morning on the Land – A guided opportunity to experience conserved property firsthand and learn how stewardship supports healthy ecosystems.
- Lake Frances Cleanup – A hands‑on volunteer event focused on caring for one of Fayetteville’s beloved natural spaces.
- Yoga at Steele‑Stevens Heritage Park – A chance to slow down, move mindfully, and connect with nature in a protected urban green space.
Each event offers a unique way to engage, and each one reflects the many ways stewardship shows up in our daily lives.
When you support the Season of Stewardship campaign, you’re investing in more than land protection. You’re supporting the behind‑the‑scenes work that ensures conservation promises are kept, relationships with landowners are honored, and natural spaces remain resilient in the face of growth and change.
As spring unfolds, we invite you to be part of this season with us. Attend an event, make a gift, share the campaign with friends, or simply spend time appreciating the land around you. Together, we can make this a season that truly gives back.
