Looking Forward to 2026: A letter from the Executive Director

News March 27, 2026

As we move through the first months of 2026, the Northwest Arkansas Land Trust is already hard at work shaping a year full of purpose, momentum, and connection. Together, we’re protecting the landscapes that define our region, the forests, habitats, farms, waterways, outdoor recreation, and wild places that make Northwest Arkansas home.

Right now, our land protection team is advancing nineteen active projects, representing 1,558 acres of land on track to be conserved. These efforts will carry us beyond our 10K4NWA milestone and propel us toward our next major goal: safeguarding 15,000 acres for future generations.
But this year isn’t just about acres protected, it’s about people. It’s about you. Throughout 2026, we’re opening more doors than ever for learning, volunteering, and connecting with the land. Whether you’re curious about conservation, eager to roll up your sleeves, or simply looking for ways to support the landscapes you love, there’s a place for you in this movement.

And we’d love to see you at one of our upcoming events:
