Osage Creek Gibbs

County: Benton

Size: 53 Acres

Date Conserved: 2014

This property is a riparian corridor along Osage Creek, just north of the Illinois River confluence in Siloam Springs, AR. The property is used to raise cattle and includes fertile river bottom farmland. A section of the creek received streambank stabilization and riparian buffer enhancement by Watershed Conservation Resource Center to reduce streambank erosion. In addition, a singular, managed livestock watering access point was established to protect water quality downstream. The protection of the Gibbs property supports the Illinois River Watershed Protection Strategy.

Saving land today for the generations of tomorrow.
