Meet the Honorees
2024 Arkansas Conservation Legend
Terri Lane
Director/CEO Arkansas Wildlife Federation
Terri has served as Director of AWF since 2022 and works with citizens and leaders in Arkansas to work together to conserve, protect, and preserve our native wildlife populations and their habitats.
Before taking the reins at AWF, Terri served as Executive Director/CEO of Northwest Arkansas Land Trust for 10 years. Under her leadership, the land trust became nationally accredited and put more than 6,000 acres into permanent conservation.
Terri served on the board of the Fayetteville Natural Heritage Association and the City of Fayetteville Environmental Action Committee and was instrumental in helping the city gain its Community Wildlife Habitat Certification. Terri also served as the Education Director of Ozark Natural Science Center from 2000 to 2003.
“Terri was a key piece to making NWALT what it is today. She helped propel land conservation into the regional conversation around growth and quality of life in Northwest Arkansas. Terri’s regional, state, and national leadership in promoting land conservation in Arkansas exemplifies NWALT’s values of preserving and enhancing the quality of life for all people through permanent land protection.”
-Grady Spann, CEO NWALT
2024 Partner of the Year
Adventure Subaru
Adventure Subaru has been an ardent supporter of NWALT for years. This year the organization became the first business sponsor of the land trust’s Adopt-A-Preserve Program as the Wilson Springs Outback Partner. Funding from Adventure Subaru is being put to use for public access infrastructure maintenance and improvements, habitat management, and biological monitoring at Wilson Springs Preserve. By adding their name to the program, Adventure Subaru was instrumental in NWALT securing partnerships with other local businesses to manage and improve other land trust public nature preserves.
“We are proud to have a partner in Adventure Subaru. They personify what it means to support community. Adventure Subaru is a model for all businesses to get involved and support natural resources and quality of life initiatives in Northwest Arkansas.”
-Renee Sniegocki, NWALT Land Stewardship Director
