About the event

The mission of the Kessler Mountain Outdoor Classroom and Nature Center is to raise the next generation of conservationists through outreach, research and education. The outdoor classroom offers hands-on activities in the nature center and guided hikes on the 0.6-mile interpretive loop trail at the base of Kessler Mountain. Activities are curriculum-based, and field trips typically last 3 hours, concluding with a picnic lunch (provided by the school). Teachers attending this half day morning session* will be trained in co-leading a field trip and have the opportunity to schedule a FREE field trip for the 2019-20 school year. While this session is geared towards 3rd-6th grade teachers, any K-12 teacher is welcome to attend. *Lunch is provided (homemade pizza cooked in an outdoor oven!)

Trainers: Sim Barrow, Environmental Education Coordinator for Fayetteville Public Schools, and Leah Saffian, Office Administrator, NWA Land Trust

Cost: $10
