About the event

Join us on September 30th from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM for Wilson Springs Day! Come join NWALT staff and partners at Wilson Springs Preserve, a unique wet prairie located at the headwaters of Clabber Creek in the Illinois River Watershed. This 121-acre preserve is the largest wetland remnant in Fayetteville and one of the last tall grass prairies in the region as we shine a spotlight on its diverse aspects, with a special focus on its fascinating critters and flora!

Delve into the realm of herpetology with guided hikes led by experts from the Willson Lab of Herpetology at the University of Arkansas. Discover the hidden wonders of amphibians and reptiles that call Wilson Springs home. For nature enthusiasts, the Land Trust's stewardship team will guide hikes tailored to explore the intricate web of ecosystem communities thriving in the area.

Tickets for this event are available at $15, granting you access to a morning filled with discovery, education, and good company. Students and children can enjoy the festivities at a discounted rate of $10. All proceeds will benefit conservation efforts of Wilson Springs!

Tickets can be purchased day of event (cash only), or online through our website!

*Parking will be on the west side of the Sam’s Club parking lot. Hikes will begin at 9:30 at the Oak Savannah Loop (signs will guide participants into the preserve).
