In May of 2024, I transitioned from Land Stewardship into the exciting world of philanthropy, working with our community to raise awareness and financial support for our work. I often think philanthropy is a lot like land stewardship. We plant seeds, care for them, and watch the ecosystem flourish. In philanthropy though, our ecosystem is you!
Throughout the year you really stepped up, proving your commitment to permanent land protection in Northwest Arkansas, and to us. Whether you bought a ticket to Acre by Acre, chipped in at a tabling event, or made a year-end contribution, your financial support helped NWALT set a new organizational record for acres saved in a year- 1,824!
This year 91 first time donors contributed more than $70,000 to our mission. We saw a 15% increase in online giving, and 40% of you gave in 2023 and gave again in 2024. From our whole team, thank you! Your contributions go directly to saving land.
I’m always humbled and inspired by our community and the support you give to the Land Trust. Even just liking or sharing a Facebook post goes a long way to the continual building of our organization. We were founded by our community, and we continue to serve our community. It takes all of us to protect the lands we love and to ensure future generations will know a Northwest Arkansas with wildlife, clean water, access to nature, and beautiful scenery.
From everyone at NWALT, thank you and here’s to another awesome year!
